Perhaps you have wondered why some things aren’t working the way they should. When you look at your life, everything’s just so messed up. Or probably, you start doing things but they don’t meet your expectations or as if nothing’s happening. Suddenly, all you know is that you’re stuck.

To further understand what I mean, let me give you an illustration (as demonstrated by our pastor at church).

Supposed you want to make a fruit shake using a blender. You put all the needed ingredients and switch on the machine. But alas! The blender won’t work. You try to shake the blender, make magic (which seems hilarious), or even go around the table. But those things won’t make the blender work.

What’s needed is the connection-the blender must be plugged to the appropriate electric socket. The plug may be left on the floor, which makes the machine useless because of non-connection. Or it may be connected to an inappropriate socket-which can cause damages.

Put this in light of reality and we know that there are times in our life when everything we do seems to be in vain. We do everything we can to achieve our goals but at the end of the day, “everything” seems like a futile exercise.

The reason for the emptiness lies on the connection. We are not connected to the right Source. We, human beings, are disconnected from God because of sin. And because of sin, we tend to fill ourselves with things that cannot truly satisfy – career, relationships, awards, fame, and a lot of other things this world has to offer.

Thank God, He provided a way. Out of His unconditional, unending and unfailing love for us, He gave His only Son – Jesus Christ – to die on the cross and save us from our sins. He wants to have our broken hearts (hearts that have been damaged due to disconnection) and replace those with hearts that beat for Him.

Will you connect to the One True Source? 🙂
