God made you you-nique. You cannot be anything you want to be but you can be everything God wants you to be.-Max Lucado
At times, I wonder, what is really my purpose in life? Why am I here? Why that out of the billions of people in this planet, God made me this way, with this size, this face, this built, a unique creature with such unique background, likes, and skills. Countless questions yet to be answered. Or rather, the answers slowly unfolding as God reveals Himself to us. As we delight ourselves in Him, we begin to understand His will for us-His good, pleasing and perfect will.
I admit that sometimes, I get insecure of other people’s gifts—I wonder, why can’t I speak as fluently as her or be so intelligent as him? Then God said to me—you are unique. I made you you for a reason. You have your own gifts. Don’t look at the gifts of others. Instead, look at your own–what do you see? And how can you use it for the advancement of my kingdom?
Acceptance is indeed the key. If you fully understand that God, in His most creative way, did not make a bunch of clones, but unique people with different and unique roles to play, then you’ll never have to peek into the gifts of others. Study your own gifts. Know your strengths and use them to give glory to God. =)
